Job Overview:
We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of Staffordshire Police Force for an Investigating Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.
This role involves responding to reports of online Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and working proactively to target individuals involved in the possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Key Responsibilities:
Promote the safeguarding of individuals using online social media.
Analyse a wide range of digital data and present findings to investigators to aid in the prevention and detection of crime.
Gather, disseminate, and utilise intelligence to support crime and disorder reduction objectives.
Ensure intelligence and evidence is obtained ethically and in line with legislation, policies, protocols, and codes of practice.
Operate software/hardware for data extraction (intelligence and evidential purposes), and present findings in a clear format for investigators or court use.
Respond to incidents, offering specialist knowledge and advice to support investigations.
Proactively identify and investigate online offenders involved in CSAM activity.
Respond to intelligence-led referrals from partner agencies to investigate CSAM-related offences.
Identify and implement interventions to maintain the safety and security of offenders at risk of harm.
Use designated powers to arrest and apprehend individuals where necessary, following all custody and safeguarding procedures.
Seize, examine, and retain all material and exhibits in accordance with legislation and policy.
Obtain witness statements and build comprehensive case files.
Interview offenders and undertake detailed investigations.
Work closely with partner agencies including probation services, prisons, and social services.
Travel across the force area and surrounding regions as required.Skills and Qualifications Required:
Flexibility in working environment and location.
Willingness to work outside fixed hours to support ongoing investigations.
PIP 1 or PIP 2 qualification.
Experience in working with sensitive data and investigations.Important Note:
This role involves reviewing indecent images of children.

Applicants must have lived continuously in the UK for the past five years to meet police recruitment requirements.
