‍⚖️ Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Chair 📍 Location: Staffordshire (County-wide) 🕗 Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (37 hours/week) 📅 Duration: Ongoing contract Are you a dedicated professional with 2+ years of IRO/Chairing experience? We're looking for a passionate and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and Child Protection Chair to support and advocate for children across Staffordshire. 🔍 Your Role: 👶 Chair Child in Care reviews and Child Protection Conferences 📋 Oversee care plans and ensure they meet the needs of each child 🧒 Organise and chair meetings in a child-friendly and inclusive way 🚗 Travel across Staffordshire to visit children in care 🗣️ Be the first point of contact and advocate for the child's voice ✅ Make sure care plans are fully implemented by the local authority 👥 Build trust and maintain relationships with children and families ⚖️ Liaise with Cafcass, social workers, and placement providers 📈 Use formal escalation processes where needed to ensure best outcomes 🧭 Provide expert guidance to teams and external partners 🧩 You Bring: ✔️ Minimum 2 years of IRO/Chairing experience ✔️ In-depth understanding of statutory frameworks and children's legislation ✔️ Strong communication and decision-making skills ✔️ Passion for safeguarding and improving outcomes for children ✔️ Ability to travel county-wide 🚗 What happens now?
