About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a dynamic sixth form college. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and technology to support students with mild Special Educational Needs (SEN) as they work towards success in their ICT and computing studies.
In this role, you will provide in-class support to learners, helping them access course material, develop confidence, and build the digital and academic skills they need to thrive in a post-16 environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support students with mild SEN during ICT lessons, ensuring they can fully engage with learning activities.
*
Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to help clarify concepts, complete assignments, and reinforce learning.
*
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team to adapt resources and tailor support to individual needs.
*
Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive learning habits among students.
*
Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
*
Level 3 Diploma (or higher) in ICT or a related subject — essential.
*
Experience supporting young people or students in an educational setting is desirable.
*
A patient, proactive, and encouraging approach to helping learners with additional needs.
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in education.
