IT Support Manager Based in Suffolk | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
We’re working with a well-established UK business looking for an IT Support Manager to take ownership of their IT service desk and support function. This is a great opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role, managing both day-to-day IT support operations and a variety of internal infrastructure projects.
You’ll be leading and mentoring a small IT support team, working closely with a managed service provider, and acting as the go-to escalation point across the organisation. Alongside this, you’ll help shape the IT roadmap, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and future-ready.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading and mentoring the IT support team, setting high standards for customer service and technical delivery
Acting as the final escalation point for IT issues, providing hands-on support where needed
Managing and delivering internal IT projects (infrastructure, systems, upgrades)
Working closely with suppliers and group IT to get the best value from technology partnerships
Overseeing IT governance, standards, documentation, and security compliance
Driving service improvements, performance metrics, and process ownership across IT support
Taking responsibility for Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server environments, and endpoint management
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience managing and leading an IT support/helpdesk team
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Windows Server
Solid infrastructure background with hands-on networking, cloud, and endpoint skills
Understanding of IT governance, cyber security standards, and risk management
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
A balance of technical expertise and customer-first leadership style
