Job Description
We are working with a well-established Engineering and hire business seeking an IT Support Technician to strengthen their in-house IT team.
The IT Support Technician will provide first and second line support, helping staff with everything from day-to-day IT queries to the deployment of new systems.
The role covers troubleshooting hardware and software, managing mobile devices, maintaining network connections, and supporting business-critical applications.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide helpdesk support across software, hardware, mobile devices, and cybersecurity
Troubleshoot local and wide area networks, Wi-Fi access, and branch connections, escalating when needed
Set up, install, and configure IT equipment including laptops, desktops, phones, and tablets
Deploy and maintain Microsoft 365 applications and Windows-based systems
Ensure accurate records of IT assets, stock levels, and user assignments are kept up to date
Support and document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Assist with IT projects and new system rollouts
Provide user training and ensure all work aligns with H&S and cybersecurity best practice
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in IT support, ideally in a fast-paced business environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365
Understanding of networks, Wi-Fi, and general cybersecurity practices
Confident problem-solver with excellent attention to detail
Able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues
A Level (or equivalent) in ICT – a degree in IT is desirable but not essential
ITIL foundation qualification (or working knowledge)
Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to branch sites
