Employment Type: Temporary Work Hours: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break, 7 hours total work) Location: London City, in-office based Contract Period: February 1, 2026 - March 31, 2026 (subject to renewal) Salary: 16.11 GBP/Hour ■ Job Description: The London office's Invest & Innovation Department is responsible for three areas: supporting foreign companies' entry into Japan, promoting open innovation between foreign startups and Japanese companies, and supporting Japanese startups' overseas expansion. This role involves supporting Japanese startups' overseas expansion, primarily in the London office's jurisdiction (※). *Covered regions: UK, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland (1) Planning and management of individual support programs for Japanese startups, including business matching support. Arranging contracts and coordinating with subcontractors, and coordinating with supporting companies. (2) Gathering information, planning, and managing new acceleration programs aimed at supporting Japanese startups in expanding into Europe, including the UK. Arranging contracts and coordinating with contractors, and coordinating with supporting companies. (3) Providing individualized support to Japanese startups through researching and actively building relationships with ecosystem stakeholders (VCs/accelerators, startup support organizations, government agencies, large corporations, etc.) who can contribute to Japanese startups' expansion into Europe, including the UK. (4) Researching Japanese startups interested in expanding into Europe and explaining the support options to them. This includes preparing explanatory materials on the startup ecosystem in the jurisdiction to be used for explanations. (5) Registering customer information and support provision status in the customer management system and managing the performance of each support program. Coordinating and reporting to the relevant departments at headquarters (Tokyo) on the formation and implementation of the above programs and events. (6) Compiling the track record and sharing support know-how of other European offices (Paris, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Madrid, and Vienna) overseen by the London office as a regional coordinating centre. (7) Performing tasks necessary for the operation of the Investment & Innovation Department or the London office, as directed by a supervisor, and other tasks that must be handled by the Investment Team. Qualifications: (1) Candidate eligible for work without a visa. (2) Candidate available to work five days a week. (3) Native speaker of English or Japanese, able to communicate in both English and Japanese and able to write business documents. (4) A candidate with a thorough understanding of UK social, cultural, and business practices, and suitable for working while building trust with stakeholders in the UK and European ecosystem. (5) Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Salesforce without difficulty. (6) Physically and mentally healthy, with no issues commuting. (7) A candidate who can work independently and with a sense of responsibility and fulfillment in supporting Japanese startups' overseas expansion. (8) (Preferable qualifications) Experience working at a startup, venture capital firm, or related support organization; educational background related to startups or innovation; experience in public sector outsourcing procedures such as bidding
