Joint Non-Executive Director (Chair of Audit Committee)

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust & Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Trust-wide (presence required across both sites)

Remuneration: £15,000 per annum (approx. 4–5 days per month)

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint a Joint Non-Executive Director (Chair of Audit Committee) to join their Boards.

The Role

As Chair of the Audit Committees, you will:

  * 

    Lead independent review of the Trusts’ financial statements and internal controls.

  * 

    Oversee governance, risk management, and assurance processes across clinical and non-clinical areas.

  * 

    Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

  * 

    Provide strategic challenge and support as part of a unitary Board, working collaboratively with Executive and Non-Executive colleagues.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and financially qualified professional with:

  * 

    CCAB qualification and membership of a recognised professional body.

  * 

    A strong background in finance, audit, and governance.

  * 

    Experience operating at a senior or board level in a complex or regulated environment.

  * 

    Ideally, prior experience as a Non-Executive Director, preferably within the NHS or public sector.

You will be values-driven, independent in thought, and able to balance scrutiny with support. A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities, is essential.
