The Role
Working closely with senior technical leadership, you will assist in the assembly, configuration, and testing of FPGA-based computing platforms. Your day-to-day will involve building systems from the ground up – fitting boards, wiring modules, and integrating power, cooling, and peripheral components – while also supporting procurement, inventory, and documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and integrate FPGA-based hardware, cabling, power supplies, and cooling solutions.
* Work with engineers to configure FPGA modules, backplanes, and related equipment.
* Carry out basic diagnostics and system-level testing under supervision.
* Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, test results, and procedures.
* Assist with technical procurement, including Bills of Materials, order tracking, and supplier liaison.
* Organise and maintain hardware inventory and ensure a safe, well-equipped lab environment.
About You
You’ll bring a solid foundation in electronics, digital logic, or FPGA fundamentals – whether from academic study, personal projects, or early career experience. You are methodical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
Essential Skills
* Basic knowledge of electronics, digital logic, or FPGA principles.
* Familiarity with lab tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
* Comfortable with computer-based documentation and spreadsheets.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with FPGA development boards (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera).
* Exposure to Verilog, VHDL, or FPGA design toolchains.
* Soldering, wiring, or hardware assembly skills.
* Previous involvement in technical purchasing or BOM management.
