Quantity Surveyor – Major MOD Redevelopment Project
Location: Hampshire
Client: (MOD)
Start Date: Immediate
Employment Type: Permanent

I am looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a defence project. The client has emphasised you don't need to be a specialist M&E Quantity Surveyor, however experience and familiarity dealing with M&E packages are favourable and preferred.

Project value of approximately £250–300 million, including an M&E package worth around £50 million.

Currently in the early market testing phase, enabling works are underway, with main construction expected to commence in late 2027/2028. The project is scheduled for completion in 2031, providing long-term stability and career progression.

The development includes a combination of refurbishment and new-build works across a large military estate, including:

  * Residential accommodation

  * Restaurants and catering facilities

  * Gym and recreational buildings

  * Supporting infrastructure and estate facilities

The Role

Working within a well-established commercial team, you will support two Senior Quantity Surveyors in the commercial management of the project from its early stages through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  * Assist in the commercial management of M&E packages.

  * Prepare and review subcontractor valuations and applications for payment.

  * Support procurement and subcontract package administration.

  * Monitor project costs, variations and change control.

Requirements

  * Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

  * Previous experience on M&E, building services or major construction projects is desirable.

  * Good understanding of commercial processes, valuations and subcontract management.
