Job Description
Time 4 Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Junior Mechanical Estimator to join an award winning, well-established Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) contracting company based in South Wales, delivering high-quality design, installation, and maintenance of MEP services to commercial and industrial clients across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team. The ideal Junior Mechanical Estimator will be a highly self-motivated individual to work closely with clients and be able to produce tenders for varying sized projects form £100k to £10 million for clients in the South Wales
The role of Permanent Junior Mechanical Estimator role is office based.
Key Responsibilities of a Junior Mechanical Estimator
* Assist in producing estimates for Mechanical installations for projects between £100k and £10M.
* Use pricing and quoting software to generate accurate costings.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and briefs to identify materials, labour, and cost requirements.
* Review Mechanical requirements from residential, commercial, and industrial building plans.
* Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate for best pricing, and build cost breakdowns.
* Maintain and update a cost database to streamline future estimates.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure estimates are aligned with project scope and budget.
Skills required:
* 2 years minimum experienced in Mechanical estimating.
* A sound technical knowledge of Mechanical systems and schematics.
* Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with all company and client’s staff with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Strong maths and analytical skills.
