Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
Location: Bolton/ Nationwide (with site visits as required)
Salary: £28k - £32k
Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Type: Permanent
Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)
We are hiring for a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator who has a strong eye for detail and a genuine interest in progressing their career within the construction and commercial sector. This is a diverse role supporting both reactive maintenance and large-scale commercial projects across various sites. You’ll be using a digital job management system to ensure accurate commercial tracking and delivery.
Duties of a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
In this role you will be working in the commercial team to support the efficient delivery and profitability of construction projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
Assisting with cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
Reviewing technical drawings and scopes to create accurate cost breakdowns.
Procuring materials and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.
Supporting contract administration, including variations and final accounts.
Maintaining commercial data within a digital CRM system (Big Change).
Skills and Experience of a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you need to have experience with:
Basic understanding of construction drawings, procurement, and budgeting.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital systems.
It would be beneficial to the Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role if you also had:
Experience or exposure to contract administration processes.
Familiarity with job management platforms (e.g., Big Change).
A proactive approach to communication and organisation.
