Junior School Matron – The Role
A leading independent junior school in North West London (NW3) is seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive Junior School Matron to join their pastoral team in September. This is a Band 6, permanent position offered on a term-time only basis, with a salary of £33,143 per year.
As Junior School Matron, your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing pupil medical files and managing medications for allergies, asthma, diabetes, and other conditions
Maintaining up-to-date first aid and medical supplies
Providing immediate care for injuries and illnesses during the school day
Liaising with parents, teachers, school counsellors, and therapists regarding pupils' emotional and physical wellbeing
Keeping accurate records of medical incidents and ensuring communication is clear and timely
Supporting staff with first aid training and awareness of pupils’ dietary and medical needs
Upholding school policies related to health, safety, and safeguarding
This role requires someone confident in working with children, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating effectively across departments.
