Job Description

Job Title: Junior Social Media Executive  Salary: £21,000-£24,000  Location: Hertford - hybrid role (minimum 2 days a week in the office) Own car/full driving licence essential Contract: Permenant, full time Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm  We are looking for a creative and motivated Junior Social Media Executive to join our fast-paced and friendly social media team, within a thriving marketing agency in Hertford, Hertfordshire. We specialise in the world of retail, destination and leisure, so no two days are ever the same! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of key social media platforms, be digitally savvy, and capable of working independently. They should demonstrate initiative, sound professional judgment, and commercial awareness. Reporting directly to the Senior Social Media Manager, the role involves close collaboration with the Social Media team, Managing Director, Client Services, and Creative teams to deliver impactful social campaigns and support our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Create engaging content tailored to client's social media platforms. • Use content calendars to plan and schedule social media posts via tools like Hootsuite. • Monitor social media channels to manage interactions, ensuring timely and appropriate engagement (occasional out-of-hours availability may be needed). • Contribute to the development of clients’ social media strategies, providing insights and recommendations. • Assist in developing campaigns that align with broader marketing goals. • Track and report on key social media metrics and performance. • Provide general team support, including administrative assistance when necessary. • Build and maintain strong client relationships including attending monthly on-site meetings and travelling required. • Stay informed on emerging social media trends, platform updates, tools and technologies, creatively applying them to improve strategies. • Receive ongoing training from the Head of social media, with opportunities for career progression. KEY SKILLS • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail. • Strong organisational skills and excellent teamworking • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Docs • Proficiency in social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok • Basic knowledge of scheduling tools such as Hootsuite or similar platforms • An understanding of managing budgets or ad spend is a plus • A passion for social media!
