Junior Technical CAD / Product Development Engineer
Birmingham
Up to £35,000
Monday–Friday
An established and award-winning manufacturer within the luxury interiors sector is looking to appoint a Junior Technical CAD / Product Development Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with CAD experience and a background in machining or product development to progress within a forward-thinking business.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and developing products using AutoDesk Inventor.
Creating detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
Working closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
Reviewing and checking technical drawings to maintain high standards.
Providing support to the manufacturing team as required.
Ensuring all design and development work meets the company’s quality standards.
Requirements
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoDesk Inventor preferred).
Strong knowledge of metals and machining processes.
Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Experience with AutoDesk Vault.
Previous experience in door or cabinet hardware design.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
Experience with shop floor machining/manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of creating BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation.
