Junior Transport Operator – Container Transport
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Transport Operator to support the coordination and execution of container transport operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with port systems, particularly the Vehicle Booking System (VBS), and an understanding of container logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Schedule and manage container pickups and deliveries using VBS.
* Liaise with drivers, shipping lines, and port authorities to ensure smooth transport operations.
* Monitor container movements and update internal systems accordingly.
* Assist in resolving transport-related issues and delays.
* Maintain accurate records of bookings, movements, and documentation.
* Support senior transport staff with daily operational tasks.
Requirements:
* Previous experience using VBS in a container transport environment.
* Basic understanding of port operations and container logistics.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
* Experience working with hauliers or freight forwarders.
