Job Advert: Key Stage 1 Class Teacher Mainstream Primary School – Southport (PR8) Start Date: November 2025 Contract: Fixed Term (Full Academic Year) Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time (Term Time Only) Pay: £140 - £195 per day Are you an enthusiastic and committed primary teacher with a passion for Key Stage 1 education? Do you have the creativity and drive to inspire young learners and help them reach their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Southport (PR8) is seeking to appoint a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to join their team from November 2025. This full-time, fixed-term position is for the remainder of the academic year and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school community. About the Role: You will take full responsibility for teaching a Key Stage 1 class (Year 1 or Year 2, depending on school needs), delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the national curriculum. The successful candidate will be supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants, subject leads, and senior staff who are committed to promoting high standards and pupil wellbeing. You will be expected to plan, assess, and deliver high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across all areas of the Key Stage 1 curriculum Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress in line with school and national expectations Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and development Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and support staff to meet the needs of all pupils Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning Contribute to the wider life of the school, including parent engagement, enrichment activities, and school events Uphold the school's safeguarding and child protection policies Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1 within a UK primary school Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 national curriculum, assessment frameworks, and phonics A nurturing and adaptable approach to behaviour management and pastoral care Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills A genuine passion for supporting children’s academic and personal development A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils We Offer: Competitive pay: £140 - £195 per day Weekly pay A supportive and collaborative school environment Opportunities for CPD and professional growth A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
