KS2 Teacher – Fixed Term – York
Full Time | Lower KS2 | Small, welcoming primary school
We’re working with a lovely, smaller-than-average school in York, who are looking for a Lower KS2 Teacher to join them from September to cover a fixed term absence. This is a full-time role within a calm and caring school community where relationships come first and pupils are known as individuals.
The class is settled and enthusiastic, and the school are looking for someone who can build positive relationships, deliver high-quality teaching, and maintain the consistency pupils thrive on. You’ll be working closely with the adjacent class teacher, with collaborative planning already well embedded across the phase.
Leaders are supportive and approachable, and the school is known for having realistic expectations and a team-based culture.
What the role involves:
You’ll lead the class full-time, delivering the Lower KS2 curriculum with creativity, structure and care. You’ll support both academic and emotional progress, keeping learning purposeful and behaviour positive. While the school sets high standards, they also prioritise wellbeing—for both pupils and staff.
What you’ll need to bring:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience in Key Stage 2, ideally Lower KS2
* A calm and confident approach to classroom behaviour
* Willingness to work as part of a close-knit teaching team
* DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
