Location: Grays, Essex
Pay: Starting at £12.21 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am-1:30pm. 22 hours per week, term time only

Job description
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join a busy education catering team. This is a permanent, term-time role supporting the delivery of a high quality food service for students and staff.
You will be expected to work flexibly and support a range of catering activities, which typically include:
* Serving food and beverages in line with brand standards
* Answering customer questions about products and menu options
* Preparing basic cold food, hot deli items, and live action service
* Taking payments and maintaining financial records
* Emptying cash vending machines or cashless loaders
* Restocking goods and maintaining product displays
* Cleaning counters, cutlery, crockery, and kitchen areas
* Reporting stock needs, feedback, complaints, or hazards to your line manager
* Completing daily paperwork and record keeping as assigned
* Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
* Undertaking training as required (e.g. food hygiene, barista training)
Working hours
* Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 13:30 (5.5 hours per day)
* 22 hours per week, term time only
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS check with Child Barred List clearance (essential)
* Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (desirable – training provided if not held)
* Good level of spoken English
* No previous experience required, though 1–2 years in food service or retail is desirable
* Barista training may be required (training provided)
