Job Description
Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join a small, friendly catering team in a specialist school setting in Robertsbridge. This is a permanent, term-time only role, working 5 days per week, Monday-Friday.
The successful Kitchen Assistant will work closely with the school's main chef, forming a team of two. You'll support with food preparation, serving meals, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll also be working in a school environment with children and young people with special educational needs. It's essential that you're comfortable in this setting, with a patient, positive, and respectful approach at all times.

Supporting the chef with daily food prep
Serving meals in a timely and friendly manner
Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces
Ensuring food hygiene and safety standards are met
Working calmly and supportively in an SEN school environmentThis Kitchen Assistant role would suit someone who is organised, hands-on, and enjoys being part of a small team. Previous kitchen or catering experience is helpful, but not essential - full training will be provided.
