Job Description

KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant   Looking for hands-on KS1 experience before teacher training? Help Year 2 pupils secure the basics with clear routines, smart scaffolding, and upbeat encouragement.   *** KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant *** Immediate start until July 2026 *** £81 – 101 per day *** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Ward of Hall Green *** 1:1 and small group support in Year 2   What you’ll do: Work in Year 2 to boost reading, writing, and number. You’ll run short, purposeful boosters, deliver 1:1 catch-up, and guide small groups through phonics, spelling and arithmetic practice. Set up activities, break tasks into manageable steps, and note quick progress so next actions are clear for the class teacher.   Who you are: A thoughtful, organised graduate who communicates plainly and builds rapport with young children. You follow guidance, keep expectations consistent, and keep sessions brisk, calm, and focused.   Requirements Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject. Communication – Clear, confident written and verbal skills. Enhanced DBS – Held already or willingness to obtain. Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in KS1 and pupil progress. Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.  The School: An ‘Outstanding’ primary in the Ward of Hall Green with tight routines, excellent resources, and a collaborative Year 2 team. You’ll receive practical coaching and regular feedback so you can make impact quickly and build a solid platform for ITT.   How to Apply Send your CV and include your availability, DBS status, and two referees if possible.
