Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

About the Role
Long Term Futures are working closely with an Ofsted-rated "Good" primary school in Derby to appoint a committed KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant. The role will involve working one-to-one and in small groups with pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 who have additional needs such as autism, speech and language delays, or sensory processing difficulties. You'll work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement structured interventions and promote positive learning behaviours. This is a long-term role with the potential for a permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored one to one and group support for SEN pupils within a KS1 classroom.
Implement strategies to help children focus, regulate emotions, and access the curriculum.
Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to adapt learning materials to individual needs.
Track pupil progress and contribute to Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.What We're Looking For
A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, or equivalent).
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within Key Stage 1.
A nurturing and patient approach, with strong behaviour management skills.
Understanding of early literacy, phonics, and KS1 curriculum is highly desirable.Why Work with Long Term Futures?
