Job Description

KS2 Graduate Teaching Assistant   Want to cut your teeth in a Year 6 classroom before teacher training? Help pupils sharpen the fundamentals and build exam craft ahead of SATs.   *** KS2 Graduate Teaching Assistant *** Immediate start until July 2026 *** £81 – 101 per day *** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Ward of Hall Green *** Year 6 targeted intervention and SAT preparation   What you’ll do: Work with the Year 6 team to deliver tightly focused boosters in reading, writing and maths. You’ll pre-teach key content, run short retrieval and fluency drills, and coach pupils on timing, question breakdown and marking criteria. You’ll prepare lean resources, track quick wins, and agree next steps with the class teacher after each cycle.   Who you are: A clear communicator who stays organised and calm when deadlines loom. You can explain tricky ideas in simple steps, keep sessions brisk and purposeful, and build steady confidence in reluctant learners.   Requirements Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject. Communication – Strong verbal and written skills. Enhanced DBS – Held already or willingness to obtain. Desire to work in education/with children – Real commitment to KS2 progress and fair access. Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.  The School: An ‘Outstanding’ primary with excellent routines, robust assessment, and a collaborative Year 6 team.
