KS2 Teacher – Maternity Cover – Pickering Area
Part Time | Summer Term | Warm, welcoming village school
We’re looking for a KS2 Teacher to join a lovely school near Pickering on a part-time basis, covering a maternity leave until spring.
This is a well-run, friendly setting with a strong staff team and supportive leadership. The class is settled and engaged, and the school is ready to welcome someone who can slot in, build great relationships, and deliver high-quality, consistent teaching a few days a week.
You’ll be part of a calm, purposeful environment where planning is collaborative and expectations are realistic.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
* Support children’s academic, emotional and social development
* Work closely with the wider staff team and contribute to planning where needed
* Provide regular feedback to pupils and communicate with parents/carers as required
* Maintain strong behaviour routines and ensure children feel safe, valued and supported
✅ What you’ll need:
* QTS and experience teaching in Key Stage 2
* A kind, professional approach and strong behaviour management
* The ability to work as part of a team and keep things consistent
* A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Although advertised until September- the right person could proceed into next year, completing the entire maternity leave period. We welcome discussion on this around your own preferences.
