About Us:

This single form Thornton based Primary is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for their students. They believe in investing in the future of education by nurturing new talent through apprenticeship programs. They are currently seeking one candidate to complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship in the capacity of a general teaching assistant. You will be working in a class that has mixed needs in ability and attainment, behaviour is very well monitored, this is a local school who work closely with parents to maintain expectations. Due to the nature of the pupils you will be supporting, we are looking for someone with high energy, positivity, and an ability to support and encourage the team. Commitment will be a core characteristic needed to be successful. 

Our training provider:

Blackpool and the Fylde College and Nelson and Colne College Group are two of our college apprenticeship providers. They will provide the training and support you need to achieve your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, equipping you with the essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in education. You will be allocated two afternoons per week to complete your coursework. 

The Role:

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice in Thornton, you will work as part of a team to support the learning and development of students aged 5-11 years. You'll gain hands-on experience in the classroom while receiving structured training from your college provider to achieve your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Two afternoons a week will be scheduled for you to attend and complete your course work percentage. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn and build a rewarding career in education across the Fylde Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons in Blackpool.

Providing one-on-one or small group support to students.

Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and materials.

Helping to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment in Blackpool.

Monitoring and recording student progress.

Supporting student's social and emotional well-being.

Participating in training sessions and completing coursework with Pareto.

Following school policies and procedures, particularly those related to safeguarding.

Pass rates in Maths and English - GCSE Level.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning.

Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A willingness to learn and develop new skills. 

Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

A commitment to the full duration of the apprenticeship program.

Residency and eligibility to work in the UK.
