Lab Assistant – Chemicals Manufacturer
Location: Bootle
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (12-week temp period)
Salary: 12.21
We are currently recruiting for a Lab Assistant on behalf of our client – a well-established chemical manufacturing company. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with prior laboratory experience to join a dynamic and supportive team with potential for a permanent position after 12 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
*
Disposal of laboratory samples in line with Health and Safety procedures
*
Chemical stock control and receipt of deliveries
*
Support Chemists and Laboratory Technicians in daily tasks
*
Preparation and accurate weighing of samples (mining industry materials)
*
Operate and maintain standard lab equipment (e.g. balances)
*
Perform basic instrument maintenance
*
Record and track data using IT systems
*
Store samples appropriately following lab protocols
*
Maintain a clean, organised working environment
*
Adhere to in-house procedures and safety guidelines
*
Carry out additional tasks as directed by senior chemists
Requirements
*
Previous laboratory experience is essential
*
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*
Familiarity with standard lab practices and equipment
*
Ability to follow procedures and work within Health & Safety guidelines
*
Good organisational and communication skills
*
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
*
Basic IT skills for data entry and sample tracking
