Job Description
Lab Technician – Reading - £13.30 PH – 8 months
Working within a Research & Development Department this is a junior role ideal for a recent graduate or Science A level candidates.
Responsibilities:
You provide hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by supporting experiments and applying your understanding under technical guidance.
You will support a range of analyses, prepare and maintain standard equipment and chemicals required for running of an analytical laboratory, support laboratory activities while ensuring compliance to the appropriate internal and external standards, and capture and report data with technical rigor and accuracy. To succeed in this role, you will maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment and be proficient in generic and specific software packages.
* Will support getting things prepped and ready in the lab
* Will support the Analysts
* This would be a first step for someone into a microbiology environment so it’s not essential to have previous work experience or a Microbiology background, as training will be provided in the role, but candidates need to understand they will be working in a very strict environment.
* Could be a stepping stone into a microbiology career
Candidates will have a recent degree or Science A level student, a Microbiology background, meticulous, good IT skills and an understanding of a strict environment. 7
