Laser Operative – Job Role Description
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate laser cutting, engraving, or marking machines according to job specifications
* Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to ensure accurate production
* Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to laser settings (speed, intensity, focal point)
* Inspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety protocols
* Record production data and report any issues or defects to supervisors
Skills & Qualifications
* Experience operating laser cutting or CNC machinery (preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
* Strong attention to detail and precision
* Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment
* Typically based in a manufacturing or fabrication facility
* May involve standing for long periods and handling materials
