Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable to fulfil this amazing job opportunity as a Lawyer in the Adult Social Care.
1. To handle a legal caseload, with some supervision. The postholder will be responsible for the following types of legal work:
* Court of Protection proceedings
* DOLs
* Adult Social Care
* Safeguarding
* Advice on Financial assessments
* S21A
* Ordinary Residence Disputes
* Education
* Section 17 Children Act
* Mental Health Act
* Judicial Review
* Leaving Care rights
* Homelessness
* Other work related to adults safeguarding if necessary
1. To undertake advocacy if required
2. To advise client officers and support them in delivering their business goals and Council priorities
3. To prepare reports on casework or other matters
4. To undertake research when necessary or requested
5. To support managers in the team and the department
6. To help, support, mentor and train colleagues in Legal Services and across the Council
7. To attend commitee meetings if required and advise elected members
8. To provide cover for others in Legal Services
9. Occasional attendance at evening meetings may be required.
10. Any other duties reasonably requested by management.
Essential:
1. Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales, Barrister, CILEX or equivalent
2. At least 2 year’s post qualification experience in all or some of the areas of legal practice (or at least 3 year’s experience pre-qualification)
