Location: London Road, SM4 5DX

Contract Duration: 4+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 40.16 per hour

Job Responsibilities
Provide high-quality legal advice in areas like social care, education, housing, and more.
Handle complex and sensitive legal cases.
Support and supervise junior staff.
Represent service interests within the council and with external clients.
Deliver innovative legal solutions to meet client needs.
Prepare legal documents and manage court proceedings.
Maintain and improve client relationships.
Advise on legal issues and draft committee reports.
Negotiate agreements and settlements.
Person Specifications
Must Have
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with local government experience.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Commitment to developing the Shared Legal Service.
Flexibility to attend meetings outside regular hours.
Nice to Have
Experience in supervising and leading a team.
Proven ability to provide innovative legal solutions.
Performance-oriented with effective management skills.
