Responsibilities and duties of the Lead CHP Technician
Reporting to the Senior Service Coordinator you will:
Attend breakdowns and assist service engineers directly in the field.
Provide remote technical support to clients and engineers, issue training, and handle technical queries.
Contribute to improving and developing departmental processes and support systems.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Deliver a high standard of customer service through clear communication, timely issue resolution, and a customer-focused approach.
Identify, repair, and replace defective components as necessary to ensure continued system operation.
Respond to call outs on a 1 in 4-week basis.
Other duties as required
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Previous experience performing electrical or mechanical maintenance on combustion engines ideally in power generation, or industrial processing environment.
A Gas safe qualification is desirable.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Relevant engineering qualifications, such as an NVQ, HNC, HND, or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Personal skills

Able to assess technical issues logically and efficiently, applying critical thinking to resolve faults under pressure.
Comfortable working alone in varied site environments, managing time effectively and taking ownership of tasks.
