Lead Electrical Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to deliver high-value engineering projects across Power & Renewables and M&E sectors. You will provide technical leadership from project inception through to construction, commissioning, and energisation, with a focus on HV electrical systems. This role offers exposure to electrical installations up to 400kV and opportunities to grow your technical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of HV substation and industrial installation projects.
• Approve technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure technical compliance.
• Support procurement by preparing technical scopes and evaluating vendor proposals.
• Conduct site inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and provide commissioning support.
• Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
• Lead and mentor a small team of project engineers.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, EN standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering design/project management for industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV and MV networks, resilience requirements, and energy management systems.
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and budget, managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Process-driven, quality-focused, and safety-conscious mindset.
• Strong IT skills and record-keeping abilities.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and graduates.
