Job Title: Lead Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Edinburgh (Static Site)
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Lead Engineer to take charge of building services for a state-of-the-art, mixed-use development in the heart of Edinburgh. This prestigious site includes both commercial and residential clients, requiring a high level of service and professionalism.
The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background and proven leadership experience within a facilities or property management environment. You will be the technical lead on site, ensuring the smooth operation of all M&E services while managing contractors and supporting compliance across all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Oversee day-to-day operations of building services on a modern static site
*
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on electrical systems
*
Ensure all building services (HVAC, lighting, fire safety, water hygiene, etc.) are operating safely and efficiently
*
Liaise directly with both commercial and residential clients, providing updates and managing expectations
*
Supervise and coordinate on-site contractors and service providers
*
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory obligations
*
Maintain accurate service records, asset logs, and compliance documentation
*
Support energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement across the site
*
Be the first point of contact for all technical issues and provide hands-on support where needed
Requirements:
*
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – essential
*
Strong experience in a similar building services or FM role
*
Experience working with residential clients preferred
*
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
*
Knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments, and statutory compliance
*
Ability to lead and manage external contractors
*
Familiarity with modern building technologies and BMS systems
