Job Description
We are recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site in North Lincolnshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader to join a growing production facility based in Scunthorpe. You'll be responsible for leading and supporting a multi-skilled maintenance team across a 24/7 operation, helping to drive engineering performance, reliability, and continuous improvement. This will be working on a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers during your shift, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Work directly with production teams to prioritise engineering support and reduce equipment downtime
Take ownership of shift handovers, delivering clear communication and updates to incoming teams and supervisors
Actively participate in both reactive and planned maintenance, offering hands-on support where needed
Analyse breakdowns and downtime, producing detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and supporting long-term fixes
Collaborate with operations, planning, and procurement to ensure timely access to spare parts and resourcesSkills & Experience Required:
Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled)
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing maintenance team
Strong capability in fault finding and repair of automated equipment, including PLC-based systems
Proven ability to coach, develop and mentor technicians
Understanding of engineering best practices and health & safety procedures in a production setting
Experience in carrying out training assessments and contributing to skills development plans
Familiarity with food production or FMCG environments is preferred, but not essentialShould this role be of interest, then please applyBefore You Apply
