Job Description
Pyramid8 are recruiting for a Lead Engineer for a large manufacturing organisation based in Scunthorpe. This is a multi-skilled role, the Lead Engineer will help drive effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant by leading an engineering team to maximize efficiency, performance and co-operation with the business objectives.
Job Role
* To lead the team in response to breakdowns of machinery and use own initiative to prioritize workload and minimize downtime.
* To carry out planned maintenance procedures as instructed to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
* To be responsible in ensuring all equipment is safe during and after servicing and whilst it is in use.
* To be familiar with operations/equipment and cooperate with other departments to support problem-solving and drive plant performance.
* To utilize teamwork to provide project support and encourage innovation to enhance performance and support the future success of the business
* To develop and maintain skills necessary to promote (within reason) a self-sufficient engineering unit capable of the fabricating and building of machines and such tooling and parts that are required to maintain a cost-effective operation.
* Assist new colleagues to integrate into the role and the business.
* Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures including Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation requirements. As an employee, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work.
* Complete in detail and on time all engineering administration to support traceability, audit compliance, inventory control and KPI's. Produce detailed work reports to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Education and Work Experience
* Relevant Engineering qualifications and experience, ideally in a food production environmentBefore You Apply
