We are looking for an experienced and visionary Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to join a thriving, forward-thinking secondary academy in Enfield this September. This is more than a teaching post – it’s a chance to lead from the front, raise the bar across the department, and drive exceptional teaching and learning outcomes that will benefit students, staff, and the whole school community. What You'll Do: As a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics, you’ll be the cornerstone of high-quality maths education across the academy. Your key responsibilities will include: Curriculum Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of an inspiring, well-sequenced mathematics curriculum that fosters mastery and real-world thinking. Exemplary Teaching: Deliver high-impact lessons that exemplify outstanding pedagogy and engage learners at all levels. Mentorship & Coaching: Guide and support colleagues to grow their practice, through team teaching, coaching, and actionable feedback. Data-Driven Strategy: Use student progress data to inform planning, personalise learning, and implement effective interventions. Innovation: Drive forward-thinking initiatives that reflect the latest research in mathematics education. Collaboration: Work alongside senior leaders to embed consistency, excellence, and ambition in every maths classroom. Culture of High Standards: Champion a relentless drive for improvement, setting the tone for success and high expectations. ✅ What We're Looking For: To thrive in this Lead Practitioner of Mathematics role, you’ll need to bring: QTS and an excellent track record in teaching secondary mathematics. Demonstrated success in improving outcomes and supporting colleagues as a coach, mentor, or leader. Deep subject knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm for all things maths. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. A strong grasp of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
