Job Description
Our client, BAE Systems, a key player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join their Business Unit- Submarines team on a contract basis. This role is based in Barrow with potential hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the quality assurance activities within the Submarine Solutions business unit
Developing, implementing and maintaining quality management systems
Ensuring that all products, processes, and systems comply with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues
Providing guidance and training to team members on quality standards and best practices
Reporting on quality metrics and performance to senior management
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
Managing and coordinating internal and external audits
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in quality engineering within the Defence or Security sector
Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements
Experience working with larger mechanical pieces and electrical support systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers
Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Security level SC, subject to ITAR and UK eyes only
Contract Information:
Location: Barrow, with hybrid working arrangements negotiable
Duration: 12 months
