Lead Renewables Electrician – Overview
You’ll take the lead on renewable energy installations for Solar, Battery Storage and EV Chargers in some of the most beautiful parts of the country, but this role doesn’t stop there.
You’ll spend time each week learning how to survey, design, quote for jobs and take on responsibilities in other areas of the business so that you can progress if you want to, or just have some variety in your day-to-day if you don’t.
They set aside £5,000 per year for your training and development and with a small, high-quality team, you’ll get the chance to get involved with all areas of the business, not just ‘staying in your lane’ on the tools. Quality rather than quantity is the most important rule in the business, which is probably why they have over 150 five-star reviews.
The company themselves are a multi award winning renewable energy company based in Glasgow who have won “Solar PV installer of the year” for three consecutive years. A large amount of their work is still within an hour of the office, but they do also work nationwide. They work across city rooftops to remote islands – in fact they recently completed installs on Isle of Arran and the Isle of Skye, so you can expect breathtaking scenery whilst you work!
You will be installing Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Chargers including Tesla, SolarEdge, Enphase, SMA, Myenergi and others and you’ll get manufacturer training on everything. You will wire up, test, commission and handover to the customer.
They allow more time for jobs to ensure they’re done right. Their opinion is, if the customer is spending £10,000 - £30,000 with them, they want the best service and handover, not rushed instructions of how to use the system at the end!
When working further afield, there are some nights away but this isn’t a job where you leave home Monday and don’t get back until Friday night. Staying away is rotated around the team. You might have a couple of nights away (planned well in advance) one week but you’ll be local for the other days and won’t be away again for a good few weeks.
If you’re ready to progress your career whilst working for a company that value quality over speed, apply now and we’ll have a conversation.
