Job Description: Lead Teacher – SEN Hub Woolwich Primary School Full-Time | QTS Required Leadership Opportunity within a Specialist SEN Hub Are you an experienced and passionate SEN teacher ready to take the next step into leadership? We are seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher to oversee our thriving SEN Hub within our primary school in Woolwich. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated specialist provision, managing the day-to-day operation of the Hub while ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and pastoral support for pupils with a range of additional needs. About the Role As Lead Teacher, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across three specialist classrooms, ensuring high-quality teaching, consistent practice and a nurturing environment where every child can flourish. You will be responsible for the daily organisation of the Hub, leading staff, coordinating provision and working closely with the SENCo, senior leaders, therapists and families to ensure pupils receive personalised, high-quality support. This is a teaching and leadership role, requiring someone who can inspire others while maintaining excellent classroom practice. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the SEN Hub across three specialist classrooms. Plan, organise and oversee the daily timetable, staffing deployment and provision. Lead morning briefings and ensure the smooth running of each school day. Line manage, support and develop teachers, Higher Level Teaching Assistants and Teaching Assistants within the Hub. Monitor the quality of teaching and learning across all three classrooms. Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons that meet individual pupil needs. Ensure EHCP outcomes are embedded within teaching, interventions and assessment. Work collaboratively with the SENCo and Senior Leadership Team to continually develop the provision. Coordinate interventions, therapy programmes and personalised learning plans. Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, SEMH, cognition and learning difficulties, and sensory processing needs. Promote positive behaviour through restorative approaches, emotional regulation strategies and proactive behaviour support. Lead communication with parents, carers and external professionals, ensuring strong partnerships to support pupil progress. Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion remain at the centre of all practice. Monitor pupil progress, analyse outcomes and use assessment information to drive continuous improvement. Support transition planning for pupils entering and leaving the Hub.About Our SEN Hub Our specialist provision offers a highly structured, nurturing environment where pupils benefit from: Small class sizes. Promote a positive, collaborative and supportive team culture.Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Significant experience working with pupils with SEND. Experience teaching within a specialist provision, resource base or SEN school. Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, Speech and Language needs and sensory regulation. Experience leading or mentoring staff. Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills. Ability to prioritise, problem solve and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and achieving the very best outcomes for every child.Desirable Previous experience as a Lead Teacher, Phase Leader or SEN leadership role. Knowledge of EHCP processes and annual reviews. Experience working alongside therapists and external agencies. Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support training.
