Lead Engineer – Multi-Skilled

 Location: Cheshire
 Salary: £58,000 
 Shift: (2 Days / 2 Nights)
 Overtime: Paid at 1.25x

We're recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join an FMCG manufacturing business in Cheshire.

 This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with leadership experience, or someone ready to take the next step into a lead role.

The Role As the senior engineering contact on shift, you will:

Lead and coordinate the engineering team
Prioritise planned and reactive maintenance activities
Ensure PPMs and equipment inspections are completed
Support production by minimising downtime and driving reliability
Lead shift handovers and daily engineering reviews
Drive Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis activities
Coach and support engineers across the shift
Promote a strong health & safety culture
 Requirements
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
Level 3 Engineering Qualification (minimum)
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery
Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers
Ability to perform under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
 Desirable
18th Edition Electrical Qualification
FMCG, Food Manufacturing or Bakery experience
Continuous Improvement (CI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
