Job Description
Our client, a leading organisation in the technology sector, is currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join their Materials and Mechanical Metrology department on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing overall systems leadership for large and complex science/engineering projects
Developing design specifications and conducting design activities
Completing technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options
Reviewing, agreeing, and controlling external and internal interface documents
Developing instrument performance models, manufacturing tolerances, and component specifications
Managing technical budgets and tolerances
Developing assembly, integration, and test plans to verify compliance with requirements
Managing the assembly, integration, and testing of systems and sub-systems of instruments and scientific products
Providing technical delivery of complex hardware and software systems
Planning, coordinating, and delivering internal and external reviews
Documenting system design, processes, procedures, and test results
Liaising with other specialists to ensure performance is maintained and requirements are met
Generating and reviewing technical proposals, providing accurate estimates for effort, costs, and risks
Job Requirements:
Degree in Physics or an applicable engineering subject area (Optical, Mechanical, Electronics, Systems, or Software) or equivalent
Industry experience in systems engineering across the full systems engineering lifecycle
Experience in developing and delivering complex instrumentation and control systems
Knowledge of a wide range of technologies
Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Strong project management skills
Experience in managing multidisciplinary science/engineering teams
Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
