Lead Technical Support Engineer – Build and Lead a New Engineering Team Aberdeen | Circa £55,000 + bonus + offshore uplifts + excellent benefits Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm | Full-time | Office-based with occasional offshore travel Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career, leading from the front and building a new technical support function around you? This is a rare opportunity for an experienced engineer to shape a new team from day one, supporting complex projects across the offshore, marine, and energy sectors. You’ll play a key role in delivering technical excellence, managing budgets, ensuring documentation quality, and providing hands-on engineering input both onshore and offshore. What You’ll Be Doing as Lead Technical Support Engineer Establish and lead a small team delivering high-quality technical support and documentation for offshore and onshore engineering projects. Manage and track budgets, costs, forecasts, and project documentation through the full lifecycle. Oversee technical deliverables including procedures, lifting plans, risk assessments, material lists, work packs, and change reports. Conduct and support offshore surveys and project scopes (approx. 20–30 days offshore per year). Collaborate closely with internal project, operations, and integrity teams to ensure technical accuracy and safe delivery. Mentor and develop junior engineers while continuously improving processes and standards. What We’re Looking For  Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Around 10 years’ experience in technical or engineering roles within the Oil & Gas, Marine, or Port sectors. Proven ability to control budgets, track costs, and manage technical documentation. Confident working independently while also thriving in cross-functional project teams. Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings. Offshore experience or valid tickets would be an advantage, though not essential. The Rewards for Lead Technical Support Engineer Salary circa £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Bi-annual profit share bonus. Offshore days paid at enhanced rates.
