Job Title: Leakage Technician
Location: Central Belt of Scotland
Salary: £27,000 PA - £31,000 PA
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a proactive and reliable Leakage Technician to join our team and play a key role in the detection and reporting of water leakage across the Scottish Water framework. This role is critical in helping reduce water loss, improve network efficiency, and meet environmental targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out active leakage detection using various techniques including acoustic listening sticks, correlators, ground microphones, and noise loggers.
* Investigate and pinpoint suspected leaks on both public water mains and customer supply pipes.
* Liaise with network control, repair teams, and customer services to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
* Collect and record accurate field data, including GIS locations, leak details, and asset condition.
* Support field surveys and assessments as part of planned or reactive maintenance activities.
* Promote health and safety best practices at all times and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Experience in leakage detection or similar field-based utility work.
* Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points).
* Confident using leakage detection equipment and mobile handheld technology.
* Good level of physical fitness – the role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 in Leakage Detection (or equivalent qualification).
* NRSWA Streetworks certification.
* Water hygiene and SHEA water card.
* Basic understanding of water network operation and asset infrastructure.
