Learning Coach - Full-Time - Cardiff (Further Education / PRU)
Days: Monday to Friday (Full-time)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent or Long-term
Support Role: Behavioural, academic, and emotional support for PRU students in an FE setting
Are you a resilient, compassionate, and proactive individual passionate about supporting young people facing barriers to education?
A dynamic and inclusive FE college in Cardiff, in partnership with Empowering Learning Cardiff, is seeking a committed Learning Coach to support learners aged 14-19 who attend a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) provision on-site. Starting in September 2025, this full-time role offers a powerful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people who have experienced exclusion, trauma, or disrupted education.
As a Learning Coach, you'll provide tailored academic and pastoral support to learners with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies, you'll play a key role in building trust, promoting engagement, and helping students achieve their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
What We're Looking For:
✅ Experience working with vulnerable or disengaged young people (PRU, SEMH, youth work or care)
✅ Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
✅ Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with challenging learners
✅ Understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practice
✅ A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
