Job Description

Temporary Learning & Development Officer  Location Central London Duration: 4 weeks initially Pay: £19.67 – £21.79 per hour (based on a 35-hour week / annual equivalent £35,791 – £39,651) A membership organisation in Central London is seeking a Temporary Learning & Development Officer to join their Human Resources team. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in learning and development who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment. The Role You’ll provide hands-on support across a range of L&D and HR activities, from coordinating training programmes and inductions to managing recognition initiatives and staff events. As the first point of contact for L&D queries, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of development opportunities and contributing to a positive employee experience. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and administer training programmes, including bookings, schedules, supplier liaison, and evaluation processes. Maintain and update staff records, the learning management system, and budget trackers. Lead on employee recognition initiatives and assist with wider HR events. Organise new starter inductions and support college-wide programmes such as appraisals and coaching. Draft and circulate L&D communications, newsletters, and reports. Support large-scale events such as learning days and conferences. Provide administrative and project support across the HR function. What We’re Looking For CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent). Demonstrable experience coordinating training and managing events. Experience using learning management systems (LMS). Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
