Job Description
Learning Mentor:
Smile Education is collaborating with a vibrant secondary school in Telford to find a dedicated learning mentor to join their team, starting as soon as possible. If you’re passionate about supporting students and maintaining an engaging classroom environment, we encourage you to get in touch.
As a Secondary School learning mentor, your responsibilities will include maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment for students. This could be for small groups or children needing 121 support to help with their learning and behaviour. You will facilitate the learning process and ensure students’ engagement in the absence of the regular teacher. Your adaptability to support diverse needs and abilities of students is critical. You will be working alongside a staff body who are fun, dedicated, hardworking and professional, who will work together to support you in reaching your potential.
The successful candidate must have:
A bachelor’s degree in education, a related field, or relevant experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience working with children
A genuine passion for supporting students and motivating them to excel.Tasks Required:
Giving 121 support to a student or small groups
Ensuring a high level of classroom behaviour management
supporting students who need additional help
