Learning Mentor (TA4) - Permanent, Full-Time Position
Location: Denton, Tameside
Salary: Grade F, SCP 17-22 (£26,845 - £29,439 per annum, pay award pending)
Hours: Full-time, term time only
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2025
Closing Date: Friday 25th July 2025
Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Denton area to recruit a full-time Learning Mentor (TA4) to join their team on a permanent basis from September.
This vital role will involve supporting children who may be experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will be a key member of the pastoral team, delivering structured mentoring and intervention sessions to individuals and small groups.
Key responsibilities:
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils across the school
Plan and deliver targeted interventions and mentoring programmes
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
Monitor attendance, behaviour, and engagement, offering early support where needed
Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing, and whole-school inclusion strategies
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting primary-aged pupils in a pastoral or mentoring capacity
NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in child development or a relevant field
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A nurturing, consistent, and resilient approach
Knowledge of safeguarding and experience in working within multi-agency settings
