Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive both academically and personally? We are seeking a committed and inspiring Learning Mentor to join our dynamic secondary school in Barking and Dagenham this September.
About the Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families to provide tailored support to students who need it most.
Key responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring for students who may be facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges.
Supporting students to improve engagement, attendance, and achievement.
Building positive relationships with students and acting as a role model.
Working closely with staff and external agencies to implement support strategies.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational or youth setting.
The ability to remain calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations.
