Learning Support Assistant – Creative/Arts Focus

Protocol Education are recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving SEND school in Benfleet. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a Creative or Arts background who can bring their skills to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the School
This specialist school takes a holistic approach to learning, with a timetable that combines sensory activities, therapy strategies, and an individualised curriculum. Pupils have a variety of needs, including ASD, SEMH, behavioural challenges, and complex learning difficulties. All pupils have an EHCP, which will guide your support to ensure consistency, structure, and familiarity in their learning journey.
The Role
As an LSA, you will:
Work 1:1 with pupils as well as support within small classroom groups.
Use your creative background (Arts, drama, sensory or therapeutic approaches) to engage pupils in meaningful learning.
Help pupils to build confidence, resilience and positive relationships through fun, interactive and supportive activities.
Be adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic in supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and emotions.

Is positive, resilient, creative and flexible in their approach.
Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Has experience in SEND support (desirable but not essential if you have a strong creative/arts background).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
