Learning Support Assistant - Year 1 Haringey, N15 (commutable from Tottenham, Wood Green, Enfield, Seven Sisters, Palmers Green) £105-£115 per day Start Date: Immediate Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year) Long Term Futures is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Year 1 team in a primary school based in Haringey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate (such as in Psychology or Education) who is eager to gain first-hand experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing, hands-on environment. About the Role You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide support across the classroom, with a focus on pupils who have additional learning, communication, or emotional needs. This is a varied role that combines 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and whole-class assistance. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils in accessing learning through structured, engaging activities. Helping children develop communication, confidence, and independence. Providing emotional reassurance and encouraging positive behaviour. Assisting with phonics, reading, and number work in small groups. Working collaboratively with teachers and specialists to monitor progress.Ideal Candidate Profile Experience working with children in schools or educational settings, or a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject. A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential. Calm, patient, and enthusiastic, with a proactive attitude.
