Learning Support Assistant –For a 1:1 role  Southampton Start – ASAP Pay - £82-£92 8.30 till 3.30pm How would you feel if you could walk into work with a smile on your face and then walk back out those doors with an even bigger smile on your face? A Ofsted certified “Good” school near the centre of Southampton is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. A knowledge of dyslexia and phonics would be desirable as the child in question would need personalised support with reading, writing and other English tasks. The school are fully inclusive and keen for a teaching assistant to be present in the classroom as much as possible but some personalised lessons or activities will need to take place in a quieter environment. Duties include: Supporting with phonic knowledge Establishing clear boundaries and behaviour expectations Scribe for children using phoneme buttons Empathise, have patience and be resilient Helping students develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook The Successful candidate will: Have a good standard of literacy, numeracy skills Build up positive relationships with pupils and staff Understand or be willing to learn how children develop, think and learn Be resilient and patient when working with groups of children or on a one to one basis Have experience in a similar role or have a passion to learn the skills above If you think this is the role for you please click the apply button below to submit your CV and a member of the team will get back to you asap.
